Primary cutaneous diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma-leg type (PCDLBCL‐LT) is a rare malignant disease seen in older adults, especially women. In this case report, we discuss a 78-year-old man who developed erythematous indurated plaques on his left shin for about three months. The patient did not report pruritus, weight loss, night sweats, fever, or chills. There was no lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly, or hepatomegaly on the physical examination. A local tissue biopsy was taken from the plaques, confirming the diagnosis of PCDLBCL‐LT via immunohistochemistry. The patient was referred to an oncologist to begin additional evaluation and treatment. According to the literature, chemotherapy with or without adjuvant radiotherapy is the first treatment choice for PCDLBCL‐LT. Monotherapy with rituximab could be considered in some patients with this condition, but the disease may relapse in a short period.

Background: Evidence shows that article titles might affectcitation metrics. This study aimed to evaluate the associationbetween selected citation metrics and the title characteristics indermatology journals.Methods: We enrolled 305 reviews and original articles publishedduring 2016 from four dermatology journals consisting of the“Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology,” “Journalof the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology,”“Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology,”and “International Journal of Dermatology” using a stratifiedand simple random sampling method. The list of articles wasextracted from Scopus; then, the title characteristics werereviewed. Moreover, we extracted the citation metrics, includingthe citation count, Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI), andcitation benchmarking percentile of the articles until the end ofOctober 2021 using Scopus. For statistical analysis, we used Statasoftware version 14.2.Results: Overall, 239 (78.36%) original and 66 (21.64%) reviewarticles were included. The citation count and FWCI significantlyand positively correlated with the number of words, characters,and punctuation marks in the titles. By adjusting the covariates,linear logistic regression showed that the title length and thepresence of acronyms in the title were the most effective factorsin increasing the citation count and FWCI of the articles.Conclusion: Using longer titles and including acronyms in thetitles may help augment the citation of articles in dermatologyjournals.

Erythroderma or generalized scaling dermatitis is a condition marked by redness and scaling of more than 90% of the body surface. This study aimed to review the epidemiological and clinical features of erythroderma patients hospitalized in the Dermatology Ward of Shahid Faghihi Hospital, Shiraz, Iran. This retrospective cross-sectional was conducted from 2001 to 2017 using patient records. All patients with a diagnosis of erythroderma on record were included in the survey, and those whose data were missing or were not compatible with the clinical diagnosis were excluded. Data were analyzed with SPSS version 22 and Stata version 14.2. Overall, 217 erythroderma patients were admitted to this ward, including 119 (54.8%) men and 98 (45.2%) women. The mean age of the patients was 47.27 ± 19.68 years (range: 4-92 years). Moreover, the most frequent cause of erythroderma was drug reaction (67%); lamotrigine, with a frequency of 12 patients, was the most prevalent prescribed medication in patients with drug reaction-induced erythroderma. The mean duration of hospital stay was 6.64 ± 4.50 days; this parameter was directly associated with the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) or C-reactive protein (CRP) level. Pruritus (41.9%) and fever (15.2%) were the most frequent clinical manifestations among these patients. As erythroderma is a dermatologic condition that medications can induce, patients should be informed about the warning signals and course of the disease before certain medications are prescribed.

Background: Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a common disorder of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Several documents in conventional medicine claim an association between FD, sleep disturbance, and some dermatological conditions, but there is still debate about these relationships. This study aimed to measure the association between FD and some skin problems and sleep indices based on the attitudes of traditional Persian medicine.
Methods: This study was carried out on patients with the diagnosis of FD and healthy people. The study populationconsisted of patients who referred to the gastroenterology clinic of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (Shiraz, Iran) from July to December 2019. To diagnose dyspepsia, we used Rome III criteria. Skin problems and sleep indices were evaluated using a validated researcher-made questionnaire. P-values of ≤0.05 were considered significant.
Results: Overall, 160 patients (46 men and 116 women) with FD and 155 healthy individuals (36 men and 119 women) were enrolled in the study. There were significant differences between patients and healthy individuals in terms of dryness of skin (P = 0.001), oily hair, deep sleep, long sleep, insomnia, difficulty sleeping, and nightmares (p≤0.001). On the other hand, there were no significant differences between the groups in intermittent sleeping (P = 0.116) and periorbital edema after sleeping (P = 0.195).
Conclusions: According to the results of this study, it seems that there is a positive relationship between FD and some dermatological and sleeping indices based on traditional Persian medicine resources.
